Edit

Zumi AI

Ask for an edit in plain words, check the plan and press Apply. Zumi runs on your Mac.

How Zumi works

  1. Press ⌘K (or click the Ask Zumi field) and say what you want.
  2. Zumi shows a plan: each step, and a preview of the change on the video and the timeline. Cuts show in red.
  3. Press Apply (⌘↩), Adjust it, or cancel. Nothing changes until you apply.

A whole plan is one undo step. Zumi never exports, uploads or shares anything by itself.

After a recording, Zumi also makes suggestions, like “3.1 s of pauses. Tidy them up?”. Press Preview to see the plan, or Not now.

Things to ask

  • “cut the pauses and make it vertical”
  • “trim the first 3 seconds”
  • “zoom in on the Save button”
  • “make the zooms tighter” or “make the zooms feel 3D”
  • “add captions at the top”
  • “blur anything private”
  • “move my camera to the top left and make it smaller”
  • “put it on a sunset wallpaper with a MacBook frame”
  • “number my clicks” or “highlight the Create button”
  • “add a title and end card with my brand”
  • “make three short clips”
  • “write a title and scene names”

The chips under Zumi’s panel are one-tap versions of the most common requests.

Zumi on screenshots

In the shot editor, ask things like “blur the card and number the Save button”, “make it a 16:9 social image”, “match my video’s look” or “copy all the text”.

PRO
Zumi on shots is part of Pro.

Always do this after recording

Tick Always do this after recording on a plan and Zumi will run it after every take, for example cutting pauses. See and remove these rules in Settings › General › Zumi.

Talk to Zumi

Click the microphone in the Ask Zumi field and speak. It stops after a short silence and leaves the words in the field so you can check them before sending. Speech recognition runs on your Mac.

Where Zumi runs

Zumi runs on your Mac. On macOS 26 with Apple’s on-device model, it understands free-form requests. Otherwise it uses ZumCast’s built-in rules, which handle the common requests above. Each plan says which was used: ON-DEVICE or BUILT-IN.

There is no cloud AI. Transcripts, captions and voiceovers are also made on your Mac. See Privacy & AI.

Languages

Zumi answers in the app’s language: English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese. You can ask in any of them.

Free limit

Basic includes 3 Zumi plans a day. They come back at midnight. Asking for the same thing again on the same day doesn’t count twice, and the count is shared with the command line and MCP.

PRO
Pro has unlimited plans, plus the steps that need transcription or writing: removing fillers, captions, writing titles, polishing the guide and AI voiceover.
