Short version: ZumCast does its work on your Mac. Your recordings, transcripts and screenshots stay there unless you choose to share them.

What stays on your Mac
Recording, editing, transcripts, captions, translated captions, smart redaction, names, tags and search, the teleprompter's speech recognition and Zumi's planning all run on your Mac. We do not receive your recordings, screenshots, transcripts, scripts, audio or the requests you type or say to Zumi.
Where your Mac supports it, Zumi and the organiser use Apple's on-device models. Otherwise they use a planner built into the app. Neither sends your content to us.
What leaves your Mac, and only when you choose
- Share links. When you create a share link, the video or shot you picked is uploaded so others can view it, along with its title and any password, expiry, comments and reactions. You can delete a link at any time.
- Accounts and team workspaces. If you sign in, or join a team on ZumCast Cloud for teams (an optional add-on), we store your email address, your team membership and the items shared to the workspace.
- Update checks. The app checks for new versions. This request includes your app version and macOS version, and our server sees your IP address.
- Licences. If you buy Pro, a storage top-up or ZumCast Cloud for teams, we store what's needed to issue and check your licence or purchase. Payments are handled by [payment provider]; we don't see your full card number.
- AI assistants you connect. If you connect an assistant through the command-line tool or MCP server, it can see what you allow it to search. What that assistant does with the data is covered by its own provider's terms.
This website
This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads. [If analytics or a hosting provider's logs are added, describe them here.]
How long we keep data
Share-link content is kept until you delete the link or it expires. Account and licence records are kept while your account is active and for [period] afterwards, for legal and accounting reasons. Server logs are kept for [period].
Your choices and rights

You can delete share links and your account from inside the app. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, or to object to how it's used.
