Your screen stays on your Mac.
Recording, transcripts, captions, redaction, organising and Zumi all run on your Mac. Something leaves only when you choose: a share link, a team workspace or an update check.
Private by design
Turn off Wi-Fi. Everything still works.
Recording, transcripts, captions, redaction, organising and Zumi all run on your Mac. Something leaves only when you make a share link.

How Zumi’s AI works
AI that runs where your recordings are.
Zumi doesn’t send your recording anywhere to understand it. Here is what happens when you ask for an edit.
- 1
It reads the take on your Mac
The transcript, every click and key, and the text on screen are worked out on your Mac when you record.
- 2
It plans on your Mac
Zumi uses Apple’s on-device model where it’s available, and a built-in planner handles common requests on every Mac.
- 3
You see the plan first
Nothing changes until you press Apply, and the whole plan is one Undo.
- 4
No connection needed
Planning, captions and redaction work with Wi-Fi off. Nothing is uploaded to edit.
Built for AI assistants
Let your assistant drive. Locally.
ZumCast ships a command-line tool and an MCP server, so Claude and other assistants can record, edit with Zumi, and export, without a cloud account. Anything an assistant starts shows on screen, and unsigned requests ask you first.
- CLI with JSON output for scripts and CI.
- MCP tools for plan, apply, search, shots and export.
- Siri and Shortcuts for take a screenshot, capture text, start recording.
# Plan an edit, see it, then apply zumcast zumi "Billing.zumcast" "cut the pauses and make it vertical" zumcast zumi "Billing.zumcast" "cut the pauses and make it vertical" --apply # Export every version, branded zumcast export "Billing.zumcast" --all --brand default # Find the take by what you said zumcast search "invoice" --json
Accessible
Made for every way you use a Mac.
Every control speaks to VoiceOver, every flow works from the keyboard, and the dark theme passes contrast checks. Increase Contrast, Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency are all respected.
Security notes
Safe to record your real dashboard.
Remote capture is always visible
Anything an assistant or script starts shows on screen, so nothing records quietly.
Signed requests
Requests from assistants are checked. Unsigned requests ask you first.
Library access is opt-in
You choose whether connected assistants can search your library.
Redaction is burnt in
Blurs are part of every exported pixel, never a layer someone can remove.
Typing isn’t recorded
Only that typing happened, and ⌘ or ⌃ shortcuts so they can appear on screen.
Diagnostics stay on your Mac
Off by default. Nothing is sent; you can attach them to a support email if you choose.
Share links you control
Optional password. Pro links last 90 days.
No tracking on this site
No cookies, analytics or forms. The only third-party requests are web fonts.
Launching soon
Record once. Zumi does the rest.
