Organise and search

Your library names, tags and summarises itself, and you can search for anything you said or showed.

Automatic organising

In the background, ZumCast looks at each shot and recording on your Mac and:

  • gives it a smart name after the app and page it shows (only when it still has a date-based name, never one you chose)
  • suggests tags you can keep or dismiss
  • writes a short summary

It works on one item at a time and pauses on battery unless you allow it. Change all of this in Settings › Organise. Organising is free and nothing is uploaded.

Type in the Hub’s search field or the menu-bar library. ZumCast searches titles, tags, app names, summaries, the text on screen and the words you said. Each result says why it matched, for example Said: “…open the pricing page…” or Text: “Invoices”.

Where your files are

  • Projects: ~/Movies/Zumcast, one .zumcast package per recording. Change the folder in Settings › General.
  • Shots: the Shots folder inside it, one .zumshot package each.
  • Brand kits, presets, pins and your licence: ~/Library/Application Support/Zumcast.

Projects are ordinary files: back them up or move them like any other.

AI assistants and your library

If you connect an AI assistant through MCP, it can search your library only when Let AI assistants search my library is on in Settings › Organise. Private details are masked in what it sees.
